Super Eichler Reimagined
We are thrilled to share this beautifully-designed Eichler home for a young, modern family. The home was a perfect find, speaking to their passion for mid-century architecture and style. After years of searching, the family finally secured their dream “super Eichler” in their ideal neighborhood: an East Bay nook on the sunny side of the Caldecott Tunnel. Both are professionals who work from home. Therefore, their lifestyle required that we design dedicated his-and-hers office spaces tailored to their unique needs.
Her office doubles as a stylish, high-functioning Zoom room and guest room, complete with a custom Murphy bed. As a woman who appreciates fashion with a feminine vibe, we used neutral tones in gentleman’s pink and beige. We adorned her closet doors with a playful wallpaper to create a Zoom background that feels fun, like her! The refreshed dining room showcases a custom piece by Jay Kelly, sourced from Stephanie Breitbard Fine Arts. It evokes 1950s glamour and adds a touch of elegance to the family’s dining experience.
Similarly, his office brings Mad Man charm with its wet bar and a classic Eames lounge chair for a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere. The high-tech sound system sits on custom shelves from Brian Eby of Go Build Studio. Most furnishings were sourced from local vendors, complementing the Eichler aesthetic. Fresh paint and curated details throughout honor the couple’s love of design and technology. This project reflects an authentic blend of retro and contemporary style, perfect for today’s working-from-home lifestyle.
