Did you see it?

Last week, Episode 2 of Season 6 of HGTV’s Brother vs. Brother showed some massive, gorgeous, kitchen-and-dining area transformations. If you need kitchen interior design ideas to jumpstart your own home makeover, definitely watch the episode for swoon-worthy decor inspo.

Here are a few photos of the design from this episode, “California Kitchens.” Note how the spaces relate to each other, and to the living room from Episode 1. It’s an open kitchen/dining room that was particularly fun to design.

I think this yellow chair is particularly delicious.

The judges were clear that it was a close race, and we do agree. Both teams brought some incredible kitchen and dining room design ideas to the table and picking a winner between the two must have been tough. A reverent shout out to our competitors/colleagues on Team Jonathan for their work that ultimately won the day.

Behind the Scenes of the Shoot

A shout out to a few of my sisters and local artists:

Fashion stylist Michelle Moquin for consulting on my wardrobe and accessories for the season

Freya Prowe of Brother and Sisters Flowers, whose floral arrangements are featured in every room, throughout the season

Decorative Artist Katherine Jacobus, whose work you will see in Episode 3, the “Mountain Scene” in the master Bathroom.

My handmade belt — as seen in the kitchen in Episode 2 is by local Bay Area artisan Kim Jackson.

Does the rental where Jonathan and Drew are staying look familiar? This house belongs to one of our clients. Check out our portfolio from that project and enjoy how it features, what the rooms look like in action in each episode, as we do.

Speaking of working with siblings, the location of this Brother vs. Brother promotional photo from an article about the show on HGTV.com might look familiar, too…
