We couldn’t be more excited to share this project we created with the support of Beckner Contracting & Management: a stunning transformation of a mid-century Eichler into a stylish, modern sanctuary for a young, vibrant family. This family struck real-estate gold when they found their dream home tucked into a sunny East Bay nook just beyond the Caldecott Tunnel. The home offers a magical combination of classic mid-century charm and a location that checked all the boxes: a nearby school, a perfect backyard for their active son, and a community that feels like an extension of their own — all surrounded by redwood trees.
As two busy professionals who work from home, this couple needed a space that wasn’t just beautiful, but one that worked hard. His-and-hers offices were top priorities, and we leaned into their unique needs and styles to create spaces as individual as they are.

Zoom room and guest room meet in this beautiful space featuring wallpaper by Fabricut, murphy bed by Resource Furniture, and custom desk top by GO Build Studio. Art on far left wall by Bibi Gignilliat. Art on top left shelf by Kaci Smith via Sloan Miyasato.
Her Office
Her office pulls double-duty as both a stylish Zoom room and a guest retreat. Challenge accepted! In mere moments — thanks to the ingenuity of Resource Furniture — our client can go from a laptop work session on the sofa, to hosting her guests on a queen-size bed. We infused her workspace with soft neutrals, and warm beiges, accented with gentleman’s pink — elegant, not saccharine. The playful personality shines through in the wallpaper-clad closet doors, which add just the right pop of fun to keep things from feeling too serious for our playful, fashionable client. And let’s not forget the custom murphy bed: chic, functional, and a perfect way to offer guests a proper welcome without sacrificing style.

His office includes a custom desk and shelf design by GoBuild Studio, credenza by USM, and lantern light fixture by Noguchi.
His Office
For his office, we embraced mid-century cool, channeling Don Draper (minus the drinking problem) with a sophisticated wet bar and an Eames lounge chair that beckons our client for moments of relaxation. This is no museum piece — it’s a tech lover’s dream. Custom shelving by Brian Eby of GO Build Studio houses a state-of-the-art sound system, seamlessly blending function and style. It’s a space designed for work, unwinding, and maybe a cocktail or two. Though it’s not much of a so-called “man cave” with all that glass… Nowhere to hide!

This sun-drenched Eichler living room is made ever-so inviting with a Matt O’Reilly sectional, pendant light fixture by Two Enlighten, and artwork by Isabella Despojols via Stephanie Brietbard Fine Arts.
The Living Area
In the main living areas, we celebrated the home’s mid-century roots while introducing modern updates to suit the family’s dynamic lifestyle. Clean lines, natural light, and a relaxed energy set the tone, punctuated by thoughtful design moments like the bold Jay Kelly artwork in the dining room. This custom piece — sourced from Stephanie Breitbard Fine Arts — is pure 1950s glamour, grounding the room while giving a nod to the home’s era.
Throughout the home, we were careful to honor the original Eichler aesthetic while breathing fresh life into the space. Most of the furnishings were sourced locally, marrying mid-century elegance with the family’s love for technology and modernity. Every detail, from the fresh paint to the curated art and furnishings, tells a story of collaboration, care, and personal taste.

The dining room is home to a gorgeous, feminine piece by Jay Kelly via Stephanie Brietbard Fine Arts, dining table by Stillfried, Lee Industries dining chairs, Pelee light fixture, and a statement sideboard by Altura Furniture via De Sousa Hughes.
We’re so proud of how this project turned out. It’s a true reflection of the family who calls it home—stylish yet approachable, functional yet full of personality. We believe every home should uplift and inspire, and this Eichler is no exception.
